Modern textured abstract expressionist painting by Connecticut artist Janet Robson Kennedy. The work features central hints of orange and yellow set against a blended background of blue, white, and black. Signed by artist along front central margin. Currently hung in a solid black frame.

Artist Biography

Known for her colorful abstract, impressionistic, surrealistic style, Janet Kennedy was a painter who bas born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was a student at the Art Institute of Chicago, and her teachers included Albin Polasek and John Norton. At the Art Students League in New York City, she studied with William Zorach, Lauren Ford and Syd Solomon. Janet Robson Kennedy was also known for her illustrations in children's books, most notably, Bible Stories for Little Children, by Mary Alice Jones. Kennedy passed away in 1974 in Florida.
