Blue tonal impressionist style painting of a landscape. The canvas is signed, titled, and dated by the artist, Richard Stout. The piece is framed in a wooden frame with a front gold trimming. The painting came out of the Meredith Long Gallery in Houston, Texas.

Artist Biography

Richard Stout was born in Beaumont, Texas in 1934. He showed an interest in art at an early age. Stout studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He completed graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin. He was an instructor at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, later he started teaching at the University of Houston where he retired in 1996. Stout was named Texas Artist of the year in 2004 and in 2010 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art (CASETA). He now lives in Houston, Texas.
