Artist Biography

(found in the "Artists of the Rockport Art Association", published in 1940) Reverend H. Robert Smith. Born in England. Rector of St. Paul's Church, Maiden, Mass., 1924-36. Rector of Grace Church, Newton, Mass., since 1936. Painted in summer months at Rockport several years. Studied in the summer school in Rockport with Samuel Hershey and more extensively with Herbert Barnett. Exhibited in Rockport Art Association 1935-39. Paints for fun and likes it.
