Artist Statement

"As a full time tax accountant at a big four firm, painting is an outlet for me to express myself creatively. It allows me to really center myself and focus only on the act of painting. With every brush stroke and mark made, I find clarity and gain a deeper understanding of myself. Not only is it therapeutic while in the process of painting, but it also allows me to meet and connect with so many wonderful people who choose to collect my art. Born and raised in South Alabama, I attended Auburn for my undergraduate degree in accounting and then received my master’s in accounting from Ole Miss. While I currently reside in Houston, I often draw inspiration from the colors of the coast in South Alabama and from emotions I am feeling in the moment."
